Documentary codes and conventions
The purpose of a documentary is to document, to report with evidence something that has actually happened. It can show this using actuality footage, or reconstructions. It can use a narrators voice over to anchor the meaning or rely on the participants themselves with prephas occasional comments from an un scene narrator.

2. Current affairs

Audience research is vital
Documentaries have different styles eg. Panaroma (serious)
Different techniques

2. Interview
(don't look at the camera they look at the person who is interviewing them)
3. Narrative

4. Exposition
(Line of argument, what is it saying)
5. Fully narrated
(Off scene voice over, voice of god)
6. Mixed documentaries
